Highland Road Park is located in Baton Rouge, LA.  It is also the location of the Baton Rouge Observatory and the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society.  Established by LBBS in 2003, this six-nestbox trail offers high-profile exposure of proper bluebird habitat and management to the general public.  Kenny Kleinpeter took over management of this trail late in the 2004 season and recorded one successful nesting with four fledges.

Box #1 is visible from Highland Road where over 3,000 vehicles pass per day.  LBBS president, Evelyn Cooper's "trademark" painted bluebird sports each side on these boxes instantly telling the casual viewer that these boxes are for bluebirds.

Highland Rd Park is located on Highland Rd in Baton Rouge between Pecue Ln. and Siegen Ln.  Even if the gate prevents interior parking, you may park near Highland Road and walk the trail as it is only several hundred yards in open pasture.  The trail is active between March and July.
